No início desta tarde, pouco antes de a bola rolar para o treino no Ninho do Urubu, o Flamengo anunciou que os jogadores, a comissão técnica e todo o departamento de futebol do Rubro-Negro serão submetidos a exames para checar se há sintomas de contaminação pelo coronavírus.

A medida provisória foi motivada, sobretudo, por conta de o vice-presidenteconsulados e embaixadas do Fla, Mauricio de Gomes Mattos, ter testado positivo para o coronavírus. O dirigente está internado em Brasília e, agora, aguarda o resultado conclusivo.

O vice-presidente rubro-negro está internado no Hospital Santa Luzia, na Asa Sul, em Brasília. Mauricio teria se encontrado com o presidente da Câmara dos Deputados, Rodrigo Maia (DEM), nos últimos dias.

Recentemente, Mauricio de Gomes Mattos viajou à Espanha na companhia do presidente do clube, Rodolfo Landim – que também está no Ninho para realização dos exames. Lá, o dirigente do Flamengo visitou o centro de treinamento do Real Madrid. O clube merengue entrou em quarentena nesta quinta após um jogador de basquete testar positivo para o vírus.

Maior ídolo do Flamengo, Zico esteve recentemente em evento no Rio comMauricio de Gomes Mattos. O Galinho de Quintino também esteve no CT do clube para realizar os exames. Depois, gravou uma entrevista com Jorge Jesus para o seu canal no YouTube – que irá ao ar na próxima quarta-feira.

À reportagem do LANCE!, Zico foi questionado se está, ou esteve, com alguns dos sintomas do COVID-19. Ele respondeu: “Zero”. O resultado sairá neste sábado.

O Fla também informou que a imprensa não terá mais acesso ao Ninho, nesta sexta. Os jornalistas participariam de entrevista coletiva a partir das 15h15.

O entusiasmo com a chegada ao Internacional ditou a apresentação de Carlos. Em entrevista coletiva realizada nesta quinta-feira, o atacante minimizou o fato de chegar ao Beira-Rio com a equipe na Série B e exaltou a grandeza do clube:

من جانبه، ذكر الصحفي الإيطالي الموثوق “فابريزيو رومانو”، أن نونيز والذي يرغب أكثر من نادٍ أوروبي في ضمه، قد يُصبح البرتغالي خورخي مينديز وكيل أعماله.

أكد هشام يكن لاعب الزمالك السابق، أن الفارس الأبيض افتقد لشخصيته في دوري أبطال إفريقيا النسخة الحالية، بعد أن ودع المنافسة من دور المجموعات، والظهور بشكل سيء أمام الخصوم.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for PSV Eindhoven striker Donyell Malen as Jurgen Klopp looks to strengthen his first-team squad.

What’s the story?

The Reds could be set to challenge German giants Borussia Dortmund for the 22-year-old’s signature after BVB identified him as a potential replacement for Jadon Sancho.

That’s according to Sport Witness, who cite Sky Sports transfer expert Max Bielefeld, claiming Liverpool are set to hold talks about signing Malen.

New Suarez

After being released by Arsenal without ever making a first-team appearance for the Gunners, Malen has rebuilt his career at Eindhoven.

In his homeland, the pacey striker has flourished, scoring an incredible 55 goals and providing a further 24 assists in 116 appearances for Roger Schmidt’s side.

Big things were expected of the Dutch international during his time in England, with his agent Mino Raiola stating: “I think he can be a revelation,” as Malen continued to impress for the capital clubs Under-18’s side.

Raiola may be a controversial character in the world of football, but his ability to spot a talented player is something that cannot be disputed.

His client is now valued at £27 million (as per Transfermarkt) and is seemingly being courted by some of the continent’s biggest sides.

Liverpool have a decent track record bringing in young, attacking talent from the Eredivisie. Dirk Kuyt established himself as a cult hero on Merseyside, while Luis Suarez fired the Reds to within a whisker of their maiden Premier League title.

After the underwhelming campaigns of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and their deputies, Klopp is thought to be in the market for a new forward this summer.

By getting Malen, director of football Michael Edwards could supply the German manager with the Anfield outfit’s next Suarez, and he must swoop for the youngster before Dortmund pounce.

While the Uruguay international, despite his obvious talent, was ultimately unsuccessful in his quest to return Liverpool to winning ways, Malen could succeed where the South American failed.

Klopp’s charges finished 17 points behind top-flight champions Manchester City last term, in part because the Cityzens scored 15 more league goals than their domestic rivals.

If Malen is snapped up by Liverpool over the coming months, then they’ll be hoping that he, like Suarez did, can replicate his Eredivisie form in England and help the Reds their Premier League crown.

Tottenham Hotspur are in advanced negotiations with Paulo Fonseca over their vacant manager’s role, according to Fabrizio Romano in the Guardian.

It’s thought that the 48-year-old, who was replaced by Jose Mourinho at AS Roma in May, is incoming sporting director Fabio Paratici’s preferred candidate and the two parties have held discussions over a potential three-year deal.

Both chairman Daniel Levy and the Italian, who won 19 trophies in 11 years during his time at Juventus, are thought to be keen on an experienced manager capable of working with the existing squad.

Fonseca failed to surpass fifth in the Serie A with Roma but won three successive league and cup doubles in charge of Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine, where he blew Pep Guardiola away. Whilst his record in his native country Portugal is also pretty respectable.

But what will he bring to Spurs? Football FanCast takes a look into his tactical system…

On the Chalkboard

On the face of it, this appointment seems pretty uninspiring and when compared to the likes of Antonio Conte, Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino, it does somewhat present a lack of ambition.

However, Fonseca does meet a key criteria that has been floating about ever since Levy pulled the trigger on Mourinho – his next head coach must play attack-minded football.

The Portuguese ended his tenure at the Stadio Olimpico having deployed a wing-back system, which primarily saw a three-man defence look to play out from the back, with support from the two wide men. And similarly to the ‘Special One,’ this also involved a low-block. This is effectively the side sitting deeper to allow the opposition time on the ball.

His heavy-possession approach saw them rank 12th-best across Europe for attacking. By comparison, Spurs ranked 30th and eighth in the Premier League, so there’s the potential for a clear improvement in that sense.

“I’d put them with Atalanta and Sassuolo as the league’s entertainers,” claimed The Athletic’s James Horncastle, via Tifo Football, whilst Alex Stewart described his style as “exciting.”

And he will get some interesting players at his disposal in Sergio Reguilon and Matt Doherty, who could slot right in on each flank, and of course, the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Heung-min Son and Harry Kane can help their fortunes in front of goal.

The Athletic have likened his style to that of former Arsenal boss Unai Emery, who has just clinched the Europa League title over Manchester United and Fonseca’s Roma, who were knocked out in the semi-finals this year.

In fact, his playing style makes him 99.3% similar to Spurs’ old arch-nemesis, with the website also describing his Roma as a “formidable attacking side” but there are plenty of question marks over his defensive nous.

Roma were played off the park by United, losing 8-5 on aggregate, and their 58 goals conceded in the Serie A this campaign was comfortably the worst of any side that finished inside the top ten.

After their Europa League exit, Portuguese journalist Alex Goncalves still backed Fonseca to go onto big things.

“It’s a bad result for Paulo Fonseca today, a 6-2 defeat to Manchester United. His managerial CV is exceptional, & his managerial ability matches it, but his time at Roma may be coming to an end. A talented manager who plays stylish football likely to be available this summer,” he tweeted.

Considering one of Spurs’ biggest problems is at the back, Fonseca could have one hard task at his hands, though. Both individual mistakes and a lack of cohesion have been the major cause of their downfall in the last 12 to 18 months.

If Levy and Paratici want their many to be a success, then he’ll need to be backed in the transfer market, particularly with new defenders. Otherwise, this could be destined to fail from the start.

Fonseca could well become Spurs’ own Emery, whether that’s from his tumultuous time at the Emirates Stadium or his successful stint in charge of Villarreal will largely boil down to those above him in the hierarchy.
