Darren Berry’s tenure as coach of South Australia has ended, with the state confirming they and Berry “have agreed to terms to end the appointment of his position as state coach”. It is the second such state announcement of the past week, after Victoria announced they were moving on from coach Greg Shipperd despite the fact the Bushrangers are in the Sheffield Shield final.Berry has spent four years as coach of South Australia and guided them to the 2010-11 Big Bash title, the last before the BBL was introduced, and they also took out the 2011-12 one-day competition. However, the Redbacks have finished last on the Shield table in all but one of Berry’s years in charge – they came third last season – and this season they managed to win only two games.The move means Berry will also hand over the reins of the Adelaide Strikers, with Jason Gillespie widely expected to take over the Twenty20 role, although he is not believed to be seriously interested in the South Australia job. Keith Bradshaw, the SACA chief executive, said the decision was taken in order to allow “a fresh approach for South Australian cricket”.”While SACA and its bboard recognise the strong performance by the Strikers this summer, our results across the past three seasons in all formats have not been at the standard expected of our elite teams,” Bradshaw said. “I want to recognise the contribution Darren has made in his time here; both parties have agreed though that now is the time to look for a new direction.”Berry said: “An amicable separation has been reached in the best interests for all concerned; I accept that the SACA are heading in a new direction and wish the association every success in the future. It has been a privilege over the last four years to have had the opportunity provided to me by the SACA and for that I am grateful.”

Amogh Sunil Desai fell soon after for 63, and despite a fighting 59 from Keenan Vaz at No.6, Goa could only make 268, as Purkayastha collected 6 for 76 to prevent the team from forging any threatening stand. It meant Assam needed just nine runs for victory, and they amassed that score in 1.3 overs to register their fourth victory of the season. With 29 scalps from four matches, Purkayastha is now the second highest wicket-taker this season, behind Pankaj Singh who has 34 wickets from six matches.

Fast bowler Junaid Khan has been ruled out of Pakistan’s two ODIs in New Zealand because of a thigh injury sustained while training last week. He will be replaced by Bilawal Bhatti and will be assessed again ahead of the World Cup.”If Junaid recovers fitness, he will join the World Cup squad,” Pakistan’s chief selector Moin Khan said. Junaid had a fall while bowling in the nets during training at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on January 15 and was sent to Pakistan’s medical staff with pain in his right thigh and elbow.”On re-examining Junaid’s condition, Pakistan’s physiotherapist Brad Robinson and PCB’s head of medical & sports sciences Dr. Sohail Saleem concurred that he had not recovered sufficiently from the traction injury of the nerve in the posterior right thigh and recommended recuperation at the NCA,” the PCB said. “Subsequently the left-arm fast bowler was withdrawn from the New Zealand tour.”Moin said Bhatti was set to play the ODIs in New Zealand, should he be needed to replace Junaid in the World Cup squad. “The chairman [Shaharyar Khan] has considered and approved the request of the skipper Misbah-ul-Haq to include Bilawal Bhatti in the team under the condition that Bilawal Bhatti will play all scheduled matches in New Zealand,” Moin said. “The decision for his selection will be considered in accordance with his performance as to whether he may continue or be replaced. وأصدر فيفا، منذ قليل، بيانًا رسميًا يخص بطولتي كأس العالم، نسخة 2030 ونسخة 2034.

في حين أكد فيفا أن المملكة العربية السعودية هي الدولة الوحيدة التي تقدمت بأوراق استضافة كأس العالم نسخة 2034.

وقررت قارة آسيا عدم التقدم بأي ملف آخر والاكتفاء بعرض السعودية لاستضافة البطولة المرموقة.
